LES MISÉRABLES
Les Misérables is a much loved stage adaption from the epic and touching historic novel by Victor Hugo, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest novels of the 19th Century. The story follows the lives and interaction of a few select characters, in particular that of an ex-convict, Jean Valjoen. Since the play's creation in the 1980s, Les Misérables has gone from a short-lived musical sung in French produced in Paris, France to today's longest-running musical in the world. Over the last century that this stunning show has been touring, Les Mis has been performed in 22 different languages, in 53 countries, and has been drawing in more and more theatergoers worldwide.
LES MISÉRABLES PERFORMANCE AT KENNEDY CENTER OPERA HOUSE WASHINGTON
In June, the musical’s next season is expected to perform in a new location in Washington, where Les Misérables will be held in Kennedy Center Opera House on Sunday 15th June. This stage performance is one of the very few that can be watched over and over again. The story line is iconic. The show revolves around the life of Jean Valjean, a parolee desperately seeking redemption after his escape from parole. Valjean's full tale, and his ultimate fate, are staged sung-through entirely from the beginning to the finish, of this incredible show. The play is full of unforgettable song numbers. Interestingly, despite the myriad of songs that can be witnessed, every cast member in Les Misérables is highlighted, with a discrete ballad displaying the vocal range of each actor.
