This little known book, written by Victor Hugo and published in the 19th century, has now been brought to the attention of the Movie and theatrical world, with its adaptions for movies and an outstanding and epic theatrical production. The story tells of an escaped parolee, Jean Valjean, adopting a young girl and his seemingly various attempts to evade capture by inspector Javert.
